National Council of YMCA's in India

The National Council of YMCAs of India is located at Bharat Yuvak Bhavan, Jaisingh Road, New Delhi. The Administration of National Council of YMCAs of India is bifurcated into 9 regions, headed by its President and office bearers (3 Vice-Presidents and Honorary Treasurer) along with National General Secreatry. There are Standing Committees and National Project Committees nominated from all the 9 regions to support the functioning. The National Council of YMCAs of India is part of the World Alliance which is strongly rooted in India and its activities are prompted by concern for others and it works among the Indian youth for their development of Body, Mind and Spirit.

The Young Men's Christian Association of India seeks to unite men, women, youth and children as co-workers with God to promote mutually caring, loving and humane communities. The Indian YMCA contributed its own mite to the development of life in areas both urban and rural. With its secular outlook it has devoted its programmes to the development of Indian youth for more than 150 years.

The India YMCA Movement has 550 affiliated local associations across its nine Regions in the country with the membership of more than 2 lakhs, comprising both men and women. There are 140 YMCA Professional Secretaries in India helping the administration at various YMCA units.

YMCA delivers programs and services to help build strong people, strong families and strong communities from over 550 YMCA centers across the Country.  YMCA in India work in partnership with other Voluntary Service Organization, Government, non-profit groups and partners to provide programs and services to the weaker section of the Community in health care, Education, Vocational Training, Awareness Programme and Income generation programmes. YMCA also provides fitness training, accommodation, recreation, camping, youth training, education, Vocational training and family services.
